Jay Yang backed the Detroit Tigers at -115 on the moneyline for their first game after the All-Star break. He highlighted starter Reese Olsen’s excellent command and elite ground-ball rate that has made him one of Detroit’s most reliable arms all year, routinely avoiding crooked innings by keeping the ball down. On the flip side, Yang called Texas starter Patrick Corbin a hittable left-hander with a fly-ball heavy profile and a pronounced weakness against right-handed bats—a problem against a Tigers lineup loaded with righties who can do damage. While Detroit’s bullpen has struggled (4.35 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 59 % save rate, all bottom-10 marks), Yang noted that group was over-worked in the first half, often covering 4–5 innings; the four-day break should erase that fatigue and restore velocity. Texas owns a solid bullpen but has had trouble scoring runs all season, giving Olsen and a rested Detroit relief corps the matchup edge. With the better starter, the platoon advantage at the plate, and fresh arms in the bullpen, Yang felt the short price on Detroit was worth laying.
