Lindquist likes climbing a Charlie Morton strikeout ladder on Friday, arguing that Minnesota’s projected lineup – Edward Julien, Matt Walner, Byron Buxton, Mickey Gasper, Alan Roden, Trevor Larnach and company – offers considerably more swing-and-miss than the lefty-heavy version Detroit saw Thursday. Morton’s survival hinges on punch-outs, and Lindquist believes the matchup gives him plenty of paths to 8+ Ks. He acknowledged queasiness after the failed Scoobal ladder but sees a better K environment here and plans to attack alternate strikeout lines once books post them.
