Kenny G leaned toward taking the Marlins at +120 as home underdogs versus Atlanta. The Braves have been dreadful away from Truist Park (12-24 road record) and will debut 20-year-old right-hander DDA Fuentes, whose raw stuff is intriguing but whose nerves in his first MLB start could spike his walk rate. Atlanta’s middle-of-the-pack bullpen (3.80 ERA) may also be forced to cover significant innings. Miami counters with long-relief weapon Jansen Junk, who just twirled 5.2 scoreless frames versus Washington and owns a 2-game stretch of 0.00 ERA outside of one blow-up against Pittsburgh. While the Marlins offense remains light (23rd in runs), they rank 8th in batting average and will face an inexperienced arm. Kenny highlighted that loanDepot Park is playing to the under (20-18), but he still prefers the side because Miami’s bullpen struggles (4.52 ERA) are less likely to be exposed if Junk stretches out again. Given the plus price and Braves’ travel woes, Kenny placed Miami on his card as a live dog.
