Just A Bet Outside hammered the alternate Brewers team-total of 1.5 runs, arguing Milwaukee’s offense is far hotter than the line implies. The Brewers have scored at least two runs in 19 of their last 20 home games (5.5 per game) and in 18 of their last 20 contests against a right-handed starter (5.35 per game). Over the past three weeks they own the No. 2 wRC+ versus righties (trailing only Toronto), the fifth-highest slugging percentage, and a .297 team batting average. Even the supporting cast is flaming: Isaac Collins is hitting .500, Andrew Vaughn .400 with two homers, Joey Ortiz .375, and Bryce Terang .348 over the last seven days. Kodai Senga is trending the opposite direction—4, 3 and 4 earned runs allowed his last three starts, 11 walks in his last 12 innings, no outing longer than five frames, and those appearances came against the Giants, Angels, Rockies, Nationals and Royals, none of which are top-tier lineups. With Senga’s command issues, Milwaukee needs “a walk and a blast” at any point over nine guaranteed trips to the plate. The bet cashes with only two runs, whether off Senga or New York’s middle-of-the-road bullpen.
