Harper already has six steals after swiping just six all of last year, further boosting DFS ceiling. Philadelphia’s mix of power, speed and modest ownership makes them MacPherson’s favorite non-Coors pivot.

Eric MacPherson urged DFS players to consider Oakland as a contrarian stack against Yankees rookie Will Warren. In only 51.1 MLB innings Warren has allowed a .250 ISO to righties and .203 ISO to lefties while struggling with walks. His mid-90s fastball and developing secondaries project as mid-rotation traits, but for now the long ball is an issue. Brent Rooker, Tyler Soderstrom, JJ Bleday, Shea Langeliers and Lawrence Butler all carry elite power, and the spacious but homer-friendly West Sacramento park neutralizes platoon worries. With most of the field flocking to the Yankees’ side of the game, MacPherson sees A’s bats drawing sub-5% ownership yet carrying a 4.9 implied total and 4% top-stack probability, ideal for GPP leverage.

MacPherson recommended betting Bryse Wilson under 3.5 strikeouts at +120 or better, citing Portfolio EV projections. Wilson is stretching back out after relieving but still profiles as a pitch-to-contact arm; models peg him for just 3.7 Ks. Miami’s projected lineup owns a league-low 17.7% strikeout rate since the start of last season, and Guaranteed Rate Field boosts offense compared with Wilson’s previous Miami home park. Although Wilson threw 89 pitches in his last outing and notched four punchouts, the +120 line represents a 4.3% expected ROI based on Stokastic’s simulations, making the under a +EV wager.

Eric MacPherson recommended Luis Castillo as a popular SP2 at $8,400 DK/$9,200 FD. Castillo still misses bats (9.3 K/9 with Seattle) and draws a Blue Jays lineup that is third-worst in total bases and second-worst in home runs (26 on the season). Outside of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Anthony Santander, Toronto lacks scary bats, and the club owns the league’s third-lowest strikeout rate, limiting floor concerns but capping ceiling just enough to keep Castillo's salary down. With the Jays implied for only 3.9 runs and T-Mobile Park’s pitcher-friendly dimensions, MacPherson sees Castillo as the slate’s best value arm.

Eric MacPherson said Hunter Brown is worth the $11k anchor price on DraftKings and FanDuel because he has legitimately leveled up. Brown owns a 10.26 K/9, a career-best 2.09 BB/9 and is now keeping the ball on the ground more than 50% of the time, giving him ace-level run prevention (0.88 WHIP, 1.67 ERA). The Reds carry only a 3.4 implied total and lose their usual homer boost by leaving Great American Ball Park. Current Cincinnati hitters are 3-for-18 with no extra-base hits against him. MacPherson noted Brown has punched out exactly nine batters in three straight starts and projects as the only arm with both ceiling and safety on this 12-game DFS slate.
