Jim Coventry said fading Bo Nix at his current QB8 ADP is prudent. Nix's 2024 fantasy success — 430 rushing yards and three 25-plus-point outings in the final seven games — came only because Denver's running game was dysfunctional and the defense forced shootouts, compelling Sean Payton to let the quarterback scramble and throw more than desired. Coventry noted that Denver spent the offseason patching those weaknesses: they signed J.K. Dobbins, drafted RJ Harvey, and already boast a sturdy offensive line, while the defense added three high-level starters and now profiles as an elite, ball-control unit. With a competent ground attack and a defense that should dictate lower-volume scripts, Nix will revert to Payton’s preferred caretaker role, losing the rushing attempts and pass volume that inflated last year’s totals. Coventry expects him to finish closer to QB12 than QB8 and labeled him an avoid in season-long drafts.
