Kenny Kim framed Scottie Scheffler’s $14,200 DraftKings tag as the ultimate GPP pivot. Scheffler was only the fourth-highest-owned player in last week’s Scottish Open main contests and Kenny thinks that number could slip below 20 percent at Royal Portrush because chalk will consolidate around cheaper studs—Rory McIlroy ($11.5k), Jon Rahm ($10.4k), Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry and Xander Schauffele. Kim pointed out that DraftKings opened a 5-k salary zone and littered the 6-k range with playable punt options such as Dan Brown, Brian Campbell, Raiden Henne and Garrick Penge ($6,400) plus Cameron Smith at $6,800. Those bargains make it completely viable to jam Scheffler while the field fades the World No. 1 for cost reasons. Kim argued that if you can get the best golfer on the planet at sub-20 percent ownership, the combinatorial leverage outweighs any lineup ugliness created by dipping into the value bin.
