Rick Gehman said Rory McIlroy is a slam-dunk outright and DFS anchor because Quail Hollow is basically built for him this week. Gehman pointed out that McIlroy owns the best strokes-gained record at Quail in the ShotLink era, gaining more than 2.2 strokes per round here since 2010. Two inches of pre-tournament rain have softened fairways, allowing Rory to smash driver without fear of run-outs, while still leaving firm greens that reward his high, spinning approach shots. Gehman added that several par-4s now present carry lines only McIlroy can take, effectively shortening the course by nearly 200 cumulative yards over four rounds and turning long irons for the field into wedges for Rory. Coming off a Masters win that completed his career Grand Slam, McIlroy also leads the Tour in driving distance and birdies per round. Gehman is comfortable betting him at sub-8-to-1 outright, loading up on top-5 props, and locking him into every DFS core build.
