Theo Gremminger said he is putting his own money behind Jameson Williams because every indicator points to a true breakout. Talent evaluator Brett Whitefield, fresh from Lions camp, told Gremminger he expects Williams to see roughly 120 targets after handling about 90 a year ago. The coaching staff has been lining Williams up in the slot, a role historically peppered with volume in Ben Johnson’s scheme and now overseen by new OC John Morton—a former 4.39–forty receiver who, Gremminger believes, will "gravitate toward guys who can run." Williams also logged nearly 10 designed rushing attempts last season, and Gremminger anticipates at least the same usage on the ground. At 24 years old, with unanimous positive coach-speak from Morton and Dan Campbell, Williams is going several picks after Pickens yet carries legitimate WR1 overall upside if that 120-target projection hits.
