Guy Boston doubled down on yesterday’s Ben Williamson strikeout prop, adding pitch–type data to strengthen the case for the over 0.5 Ks. Williamson has fanned in seven of his last ten games and sports a 24.7% overall strikeout rate, cashing this number in 65% of appearances (15-of-23). Versus left-handers the K rate dips to 20.8%, but Boston pointed out that opponent Max Fried still sets up poorly for the rookie. Fried throws fastballs on 40% of his pitches and owns a 21.2% strikeout rate against right-handed hitters. Williamson’s whiff rate against heaters is a whopping 40.9%, and he has a 100% K rate (two plate appearances) versus Fried’s curveball in limited samples. With overlapping 20-plus percent strikeout profiles on both sides and only one punch-out needed to cash, Boston labeled it “a pretty good matchup across the board” and fired on the over at ‑145 on DraftKings.
