Bill Harrelson’s bonus play is Brooks Lee over 0.5 total bases. Lee has recorded at least one base in nine of his last ten, 19 of his last twenty, and six of eight matchups with Detroit. Since May 28 he has missed just once, and he’s on a 16-game road streak of cashing this prop. Overall, Lee has eclipsed the line in 46 of 64 games (72%). Although the market is juiced, Harrelson views the consistency and matchup with the Tigers’ middling staff as worth the premium.

Ryan Wormeli recommended scooping up Brooks Lee in any league where the former No. 8 overall pick is still floating on waivers (rostered in just 4 % Yahoo, 2 % ESPN). The 24-year-old third baseman has popped a pair of homers this week and, more importantly, has bumped his hard-hit rate from 24 % last season to 42 %. Wormeli noted third base is a wasteland once you get outside the top tier, so Lee’s multi-category upside at a scarce position makes him an easy bench stash. He conceded the case is more speculative than data-driven—Lee’s minor-league progression was so rapid that we still may not have seen his best—but argued the combination of prospect pedigree, immediate playing time and minimal acquisition cost is too good to ignore for managers needing long-term help.
