Bill Harrelson advised betting Christian Vazquez under 0.5 total bases versus Tampa Bay. Vazquez has come up empty in six straight games and has gone under in nine of his last ten and 13 of his last 20 (65 %). On the season he is 25-for-44 (57 %) to the under, a notable dip from last year’s 49 %. Although Vazquez owns a better split against right-handed pitching, Harrelson pointed out that Rays starter Drew Rasmussen is actually more effective against righties, neutralizing any platoon edge. Vazquez’s track record against Tampa (4-for-6 unders, 67 %) and his current cold streak led Harrelson to expect another goose egg at the plate.
