Todd Zola thought a $16 FAAB bid on Hyeseong Kim was too aggressive. He noted that once Tommy Edman’s ankle heals, Kim will be fighting for reps with Enrique Hernandez, Chris Taylor, Miguel Rojas, and James Outman. Unless Taylor is DFA’d, Zola doubts Kim reaches the five-starts-per-week workload that a bid that size implies. While Kim’s early steals help category-chasing managers, Zola views him as a short-term fill-in rather than a rest-of-season regular and would only spend big if absolutely desperate for speed and multi-position eligibility.
