Adam Rosenberg endorsed taking Luis Castillo under 17.5 recorded outs at +105 in Wednesday’s meeting with the Yankees. Castillo has cleared 18 outs just three times all season—and each came against anemic offenses (Detroit, Miami, and a slumping Texas club). In every other 2025 start he has been yanked before the sixth inning ends. Rosenberg highlighted several factors: the Bronx lineup’s MLB-best 125 wRC+ versus righties, Castillo’s own home struggles (0-for-4 on this outs prop at T-Mobile Park), and Seattle’s fresh bullpen—six relievers worked fewer than 25 pitches in Tuesday’s extra-inning loss and the club is off on Thursday, allowing Scott Servais to be aggressive with pen matchups. Even after throwing 94 pitches last time out, Castillo still fell short of this number, and Rosenberg expects New York to force an early hook again.
