Guy Boston recommended taking Luis Rengifo UNDER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (books were hanging –110 to –115) as a direct way to attack Michael King. Boston reminded listeners that King’s four–pitch, 25-percent-each arsenal has chewed up the Halos as a group—he covered the team total fade earlier—and Rengifo grades poorly against three of those offerings (fastball, slider and change-up) with sub-.290 xwOBA figures on each. King has already fanned 33 percent of current Angels in 33 head-to-head plate appearances, and Rengifo’s K-rate has spiked to 24 percent in May. Add in Petco’s 12-mph left-to-right wind suppressing power and Rengifo’s likely slot in the bottom half of the order, and Boston doubts Rengifo sees the volume or hard contact needed to clear the prop.
