Bill Harrelson recommended taking Tyler Wade for LESS than 0.5 total bases on the Padres-Phillies board. Harrelson pointed out that Wade has stayed under this number in 9 of his last 10 games and 15 of his last 20 (75%). During that stretch Wade is averaging just 2.2 plate appearances and only 0.2 total bases per game, a product of part-time usage at the bottom of San Diego’s order. Sportsbooks agree with the fade: DraftKings and ESPN Bet have the under priced between –125 and –129 while Underdog lists it as a straight pick. On the season Wade has gone under in 28 of 46 contests (61%). The matchup also favors the under—he owns a .207 AVG versus right-handed pitching, and Phillies ace Zack Wheeler is limiting lefties to a .170 mark. Even though Wade is 1-for-2 lifetime off Wheeler, Harrelson called that sample “basically irrelevant.” All signs point to limited contact and another goose-egg night for Wade.
