Stan Son recommended Zac Veen as a low-cost, high-upside DFS play. Despite starting cold with a slash of .167/.231/.250 in limited plate appearances, Veen has an impressively low 15.4% strikeout rate and a low BABIP of .200, suggesting positive regression is likely. Veen also offers significant speed upside (69th percentile running speed, with two minor league seasons of at least 50 steals). His matchup against Padres left-hander Kyle Hart is promising, too. Hart is a soft-throwing lefty (91.2 mph fastball), who struggled immensely this season, walking five, striking out four, and allowing two home runs over just 5.2 innings pitched. Given the cheap $2,200 DFS price, Veen provides significant potential upside.
