Kenny G advised grabbing Cincinnati at +135 because the market is still pricing the Yankees like an elite offense even though they have flat-lined for two full weeks. New York has scored 1, 6, 9, 3, 7, 2, 0, 0 and 0 runs in its last nine contests and Carlos Rodon’s personal slump (Yanks just 1-2 his last three starts, both losses coming to Boston) doesn’t help. Rodon’s ERA has crept above 3.00 and his fastball command has wavered, producing hard-hit rates north of 40% in June. Kenny also pointed to a Yankees bullpen sliding toward league average with a 3.48 ERA. On the flip side, the Reds quietly rank 11th in runs and 15th in OBP thanks to a scorching Elly De La Cruz, and send 22-year-old flamethrower Chase Burns to the hill for his debut. While acknowledging rookie volatility, Kenny likes that Burns’ triple-digit heater plays against a slumping lineup and that Cincinnati’s pen (4.03 ERA but usually top-10) gives them depth. With New York just 21-16 on the road and the Reds 20-17 at home, he sees the plus-money price as "very, very good value" and expects the Bronx Bombers’ funk to continue.
