Ryan Noonan called Danielle Hunter at 100-1 on DraftKings the single biggest error on the Defensive Player of the Year board. Hunter posted a better pressure rate and pass-rush win rate than teammate Will Anderson last year, yet Anderson is the 7-1 co-favorite while Hunter sits in triple digits. Noonan noted that Anderson’s gravity should actually help Hunter pile up clean-up sacks as offensive lines slide protection the other way. The Texans project as an 11-win playoff team, and voters have shown they prefer giving the award to a dominant pass rusher on a contender. Hunter has reached double-digit sacks in five of the last seven seasons and has a ceiling well north of 15 in DeMeco Ryans’ aggressive front. Noonan believes the number should be 25-30-1 and expects it to be chopped in half once training-camp reports showcase the Texans’ twin-edge terror.
