Hayden Winks acknowledged that every day Keenan Allen remains unsigned past minicamp "adds a little bit of risk," but he continues to draft the veteran at his current ADP. Winks, who interned with the Chargers and knows Allen’s "big family-guy" mindset, noted Allen has publicly floated returning to Los Angeles or playing in Chicago while dismissing a move to Pittsburgh—comments that spook some drafters because those destinations already boast crowded WR rooms. Even so, Winks argues Allen’s Round-7 price bakes in plenty of downside for a player who finished top-six in target share and yards per route last season. If the Bears lose one of D.J. Moore, Luther Burden or Colston Loveland to injury—or if the Chargers realize their current WR depth chart of Mike Williams, Ladd McConkey and late-round flyers is "not a serious approach"—Allen could walk into 140 targets. Winks is willing to gamble on that ceiling, figuring the market is over-penalizing the holdout/trade chatter relative to the upside of a five-round closing line value spike once his landing spot stabilizes.
