Davis Mattek called Tyrod Taylor a sneaky final-round quarterback in Superflex drafts now that he’s backing up Justin Fields in New York. Mattek noted the Jets’ coaching staff has job security and therefore no incentive to "go down with the ship" if Fields struggles early. A performance benching—or a concussion after 15 designed runs—could force Taylor into action for multiple starts. Taylor averaged 7.2 yards per attempt and 38 rushing yards in his two Giants spot starts last year, numbers that would play as a top-15 fantasy QB in any given week. Because the market chases Joe Flacco and Sam Howell several rounds earlier, Mattek thinks Taylor is the cleaner leverage bet: "He’s one Fields ankle twist away from a month of QB2 production, and you can still use that roster spot on a skill player in non-Superflex formats."
