Andy Lack pushed back on the popular fade-Scheffler narrative for links golf. He noted Scheffler owns four straight top-25 finishes at Open Championships (8th, 21st, 23rd, 7th) while gaining heavily tee-to-green in every appearance. The issue has been putting, but 2025 marks Scheffler’s best statistical season with the flat stick, and Lack’s model still ranks him No. 1 this week. With the Renaissance Club playing easier and slower on the greens, Lack expects Scheffler’s improved putting to travel, making him every bit the favorite his ball-striking numbers imply. In betting markets or DFS, Lack advised not docking Scheffler for supposed overseas struggles and treating him like the clear top play he is in the States.
