Greg Peterson recommended taking the Mariners –1½ at +125 or better and leaning Under 7½. He highlighted Bryce Miller’s stark splits: a 2.73 ERA and sub-0.30 HR/9 at T-Mobile Park versus a 4.55 ERA and 1.3 HR/9 on the road. While Max Meyer has dazzled (sub-2.25 ERA, 12.0 K/9, 2.1 BB/9), Peterson does not trust Miami’s bullpen of Anthony Bender, Anthony Vizcaino and a dinged-up George Soriano to protect leads. Seattle’s bridge to lockdown closer Andres Munoz has improved thanks to Gabe Speier’s sub-1.00 ERA and Carlos Vargas’ emergence despite the loss of Gregory Santos. Offensively, Cal Raleigh already owns nine homers and Julio Rodriguez, Randy Arozarena and Luke Raley supply enough power even when batting averages lag. The Marlins put the ball in play but lack thump—Matt Mervis is their only hitter with more than seven homers and regulars like Otto Lopez and Paul DeJong carry sub-.220 OBPs. Peterson made the total 7.4, so the market 7½ is playable to the Under, and priced Seattle –146 on the run line, making anything in plus money worth a shot.
