It's The Final Round said Mookie Betts is in a great position to clear his hits/total-bases props tonight against rookie Gunnar Hoglund. He noted that Hoglund leans on a four-seam fastball 39 % of the time and has been tattooed in his tiny MLB sample ( .333 BA, 1 HR in only 6 AB ). The sinker (32 % usage, .500 BA allowed) and sweeper (19 %, .500 BA allowed) have been even worse. Betts grades out perfectly versus those exact offerings: .326 vs four-seam (43 AB, 2 HR), .353 vs sinker (17 AB), and he has even slugged .500 on the rare change-ups (3-for-6 with a HR). The tout added that Betts has a knock in 10 of his last 14 games with eight multi-hit outings in the last 12 and owns a 36.8 % launch-angle "sweet-spot" rate that ranks 83rd of 262 MLB hitters. By contrast, Hoglund’s 39.4 % sweet-spot contact allowed would rank 307th of 360 if he had enough innings to qualify. All signs, in his view, point to Betts adding at least one—if not multiple—hits tonight, making him a strong over play in batter props or DFS cash games.
